A Reminisce of My Allegiance to Langan. Our Fight in the Trenches.
And in this, though my mind works nothing like Chris’s, I am a happy warrior in the trenches beside him. Aligned in Mind, Body, Culture and Ethos. Can I find you alongside of Us?

Sometimes you have a soft personal affinity in your Heart for certain people, a connection you cannot describe. You are glad to Share the earth with certain Persons and wonder at your common humanity. Other times you have a pragmatic recognition of Hard Truths and Realities. I can sense in his writing that Langan has a soft love of John Archibald Wheeler. At further times you have a mixture of the two: between soft love/affinity and Hard Pragmatic recognition of Intense Value.
On my spectrum of History’s greatest Metaphysicians, Immanuel Kant I have a soft spot in my heart for. This does not mean that I lessen the value of his contributions by proxy of my own affect. Make no mistake that Kant was a stepping stone for all Idealist Philosophies and Founder of Massive breakthroughs in Epistemic, Cognition, Rationalist vs. Empiricist argumentation as well as perhaps the single Most compelling work in Ethics (yes even greater by leaps and bounds of Virtue Ethics; Deontological Ethics is the most brilliant insight into Humanity’s morals and moral action ever fathomed). I admire Kant as the regal Enlightenment Gentleman thinker that he was - and I am astounded at his cognitive-rational categories for thought as well as the progenitor for Modern theories of Induction and Deduction: a priori vs a posteriori, analytical vs synthetic judgments - all are indispensable to our foundations of knowledge. And I cannot come to grasp with how a Man (with a Man’s mind) came up with such an imaginative/creative but also Adjointive of Reality’s Categories out of the antecedents that he had in Ancient philsosphy. He is truly the Greatest single Luminary out of the Enlightenment era and embodies the Victories to be gained on by that Breed of Enlightenment Minds. Well done Kant your name is deserving of the spoils of Caesar - indeed you conquered more than Julius himself in your intellectual conquests.
Another Philosopher that I both Love and Recognize is Heidegger. I won’t go too in-depth here but Heidegger was a great apportioner of the Embedded natures of Language and Realities. A precursor to the CTMU in my mind with his statement that “Language is the House of Being.” Further he created categories that existentialists could compartment to our Being: Dasein, Care (Existential, Facticity, Falleness), Falling away from Primordial Time. All of this is indispensable to Modern Man in dealing with the hand he is dealt in the Twentieth, then, Twenty-First Century. Essential Reading in my Book.
Now Chris Langan, through his Work, is someone who I cannot look away from. I admire (and am rested in assurance) that he has lived in America as a Blue-Collar working man. I can relate to him more than Kant or Heidegger, having spent my formative years working as a Grass Cutter and Landscape labourer. This is something that we Share, a working class background and rough-and-tumble socialization in Bars and Beer-drinking environs with the likes of America’s deplorables. (I grew up in such a life with my close friends and local small town folk, and so I am a deplorable, even a MAGA-Trump Supporting Canadian as rare as that is). So I can say that I was not raised in a bubble or ivory tower, detached from common people and reality in turn.
But where I must be honest is that I do not think like Chris. And I have no reference to Men of Physics as a discipline/science, so maybe they think like Chris but I doubt even this. I don’t think any mind works like Chris’s. So this gets to what I am saying, I can relate to Langan yet it is more that I have to contend in a world that Langan exists in. This to me is a High Compliment of the Force of his Mind.
When Langan discusses 18th Century Rationalists, Empiricists, and other Enlightenment thinkers - He cuts through them like Swiss cheese. Usually in a few sentences (i.e. - Kant created a Gap in Reality with Noumena, or We are distributing Kant’s mind-matter distinction over Hume’s ‘experience’ by Synonymy, bringing their metaphysics into coincidence). It leaves me with the question of Causation: How does Langan treat their systems with such ease of use and facility.
For this I am so enamoured that Langan is nothing like a Professor with airs brought about of Superiority and Classicism. You know the people who go around Acting like they are all above the Fray. Chris has the distinction that he Knows he is Inside of the Fray, he is embattled to spread his Insights and Work. Because he knows the stakes are high in this shit show we call Planet Earth or ‘Humanity.’ He does not think he is above reality or us because he knows how intimately he is involved in the battle of our times - for the very Spirit of our collective consciousness.
And in this, though my mind works nothing like Chris’s, I am a happy warrior in the trenches beside him. Aligned in Mind, Body, Culture and Ethos.
