‘One’ in today’s world would do well to take a page from Dr. Evil - who was not afraid to be cryogenically frozen and shot into space; and spent his little time on earth working remotely from his secret lair or ‘bunker’ if you will.
And how does this not look like the modern doomer’s potential range of experience: hunkered down in an apartment in a concrete building designed for industrial habitation. Making designs on the world with cold calculation.
Yes we are absolutely isolated as atoms (read on the decline of social clubs or ‘social capital’), yet there’s never been anything approaching our hyperlinked informational access. We can film ourselves doing or saying anything imaginable - and savyness with computers can transport our minds instantaneously across the world and through any various forms of media.
For an enterprising young man it is beautiful and tragic at the same time…
