The ‘God Instrumentation’ Argument—Wilford Against Lacan-Zizek Axis
In My early encounter with Slavoj Zizek’s critique of Christianity I did not familiarize myself with scripture enough to come to a clearer picture of a Christian’s true purpose under God.
You see that Zizek interrogates Christians one-and-all as being fanatics, it is an implicit assumption of His. That if You see Yourself as an “Instrument of God” then You are fanatical —not understanding Himself, the great philosopher that He is, that if this was authentically True, if You were an Instrument of God in Reality; there could be nothing opposing You which is righteous or correct.
Zizek claims that People Who Claim to be an instrument of God are delusional fanatics for the very fact that it is not True—because His premise runs that God is not Real.
He goes on to say the reverse catechism of Doestevsky via Sartre “If God is Dead, then Everything is Permitted” done inverted by Lacan “If God is Real then Everything is Permitted” is characteristic of Every Christian Fanatic. And By the Way All Christians would be fanatical if taken by Zizek’s vision. Your belief would either be Lukewarm and Not Christian or would be Genuine and culprit under Zizek’s Atheist Law.
Answering Zizek on what might be termed the ‘God Instrumentation’ attack, I have refined the points to a good degree…
It is both Ok to Be and Instrument of God and for us to refine the aspects at Use Here. For instance in this verse Acts 9:15 “But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children[a] of Israel.” God is describing St. Paul as His ‘Vessel’ in other translations ‘Instrument,’ We can Also go towards a refinement of the Aspects, God can either Use Us as His Instrument OR God Gives His Faithful Disciples Holy Instruments for Use of the Good, Righteous, Holy Missions and to Ordering the Heavenly Kingdom Here on Earth as NT Wright says.
Because I sense that God Gave Us Free Will such that We are Not Instruments, and neither can God be Our Instrument because a Servant is not Above the Master. It makes more Sense to See Us as possessing Holy Instruments towards the Ordering of the Heavenly Kingdom Here on Earth as through the Stories of Daniel in Babylon and Joseph in Egypt.
Both of these Old Testament Chosen Men were placed as Civil Magistrate over Their Earthly Kings’ Earthly Kingdom. But They Used Their connection to God to Save Holy Ordering. Refusing Idols and preparing for Famine. It could Both Be said against Zizek’s Line of Atheist Attack that these Chosen Were Indeed Yes Instruments but also that They were each given Holy Instruments, ‘The Voice and Command of God’ such that They Ordered Earth Toward the Heavenly Kingdom.
Zizek Would likely seethe and especially claim that such Order of Belief is Fanatical, at which point We would just have to accept that Fanaticism is the label that Satan applies to Followers of Christ and Indeed Christ Himself. We Are after a Heavenly Kingdom brought about on the Earth, that ‘Thy Kingdom Come on Earth’ and the ‘Earth is His Footstool.’ All alike are the Markers of Real Faithful Mission towards God and Jesus.
Remember that it is Up to You to deliver God His victory within the Confines of Your Own Mission, Task, and Life. In God’s Name, Amen. - Greg
