The Vision of NT Wright as the 21st Century Penultimate Reformer: Towards a New Christian Metaphysic

It is a four fold multiface: 1 Cruciform Theocracy; 2 Heaven to Earth Restoration of Spacetime Order; 3 Kingdom and Cross Metaphysic; 4 Anticipation of Resurrection, New Jerusalem, And Life After Life

Here is the vision which guides me and my mission. I will lay it out here in short, later to unfold through my Substack as an ongoing publication - Martin Luther had pamphlets, we have internet blogs. This is what is revealed to me by NT Wright, carrying as he does the New Testament and Christ Event in its Authenticity and Full Birth of New Creation.

As detailed below…

1. Cruciform Theocracy: in speaking with my uncle, he made it clear that he believes in the separation of church and state as a positivist feature of an enlightenment world, that is, Church and State are rightly separated because those church people have a line of crap to sell and should not be put into stately power. This philosophy neglects the fact that church and state are separate to protect the worshippers from the state and not the other way around. Freedom of religion means freedom to worship not freedom from worship. But indeed this philosophy’s sentiment is what the pharisee’s and lawyers might have gleaned in their facile interpretation of Jesus’ answer to render unto Cesar what is Cesar’s and God what is God - does this mean that politics on the earth are to be left alone and to their own wicked hearts?

NT Wright answers decidedly not. And this is the Spirit of will carried by believers that in fact God reigns on the earth and through worldly leaders. Also in a purer sense that the Body of Christ, the Believers, the Church, serve a heavenly Lord in Christ and moreover this Lord has a Kingdom that interlocks Heaven and Earth together (as in the tabernacle, and the temple, and the believers bodies as the new temple).

Indeed Christ reigns over the Earth for what is his purposes and through the meek, the mourners and the sufferers. This does not look like ‘the tanks rolling in thunder’ but rather looks like ministry to capture the hearts of new converts and grow the peace all over the Earth. This is the first point.
